In 1982, after leaving the Blonay chalet, David Bowie moved with his son Zowie (today the film-maker Duncan Jones) into a larger house, the Château du Signal, on the edge of the Sauvabelin forest above Lausanne. The fourteen-room house was built around 1900 for a Russian prince, then belonged from 1932 to 1982 to Albert Mermoud, founder of the Guilde du Livre. Bowie lived there with his assistant Corinne Schwab until he left Switzerland in 1997, for New York and London, twenty years after arriving in the region. The property remains private and cannot be visited.
