Grand-Rue 46, 1820 Montreux

On the Grand-Rue, at number 46, the Tabashop opened in 1970 and has been run by the Monbaron family since 1996. Fully modernised in 2020 around a proper cigar cellar, the shop now stocks more than 1,200 formats from Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua and Costa Rica (24 heures). In January 1997, during his stay in Montreux to record “Blood on the Dance Floor” at Mountain Studios, Michael Jackson stopped in, a blue surgical mask over the lower half of his face, and signed an autograph for one of the shop assistants.
