Set on the Avenue de Gilamont, the Rocking Chair — the RKC to regulars — is Vevey’s contemporary music venue. Its programme is deliberately eclectic: rock, punk and psych, electro, rap and hip-hop, reggae and dub, metal, pop, chanson and world music follow one another on the same stage through the season. The club also runs its own online radio, La Radio du RKC, carries out cultural outreach work and stands on a charter setting out its commitments. A few kilometres from the Montreux Jazz Festival, it plays the same role on the Riviera as the NED Music Club in Montreux: a stage open all year round, where you discover bands before they fill the big halls.
