Born in February 2021 out of sessions streamed live from a shared flat in Vevey during the pandemic, La 17ème has settled on the Avenue des Alpes in Montreux. The non-profit association describes itself as a cultural incubator: under one roof it brings together a hybrid concert hall, a music room and a dance studio, and hosts artists in residence. You can attend concerts by Swiss artists there, but also record and have your music filmed, with coaching designed to move careers forward — the team sets out to show that you do not have to leave Switzerland to succeed.
